ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR WORK SAMPLES

Actor Transition Tracking

When putting people into a show it is helpful to quickly understand what each cast member accomplishes on actor driven transitions. These transitions were story driven and required direction and artistry as well as logistics.

  • Make sure the show can happen with new/different cast members

  • Easily track props and prepare for any changes

  • Shows how actors work together to accomplish tasks

Note Tracking and Delivery

It is imperative that notes are clearly organized and actionable, including the necessary parties and priority level. So much of a process is tracking progress, and every completed note is one step closer to freezing a production.

Taking notes on design conversations

On this production it was imperative that I track conversations and design ideas to be able to communicate them to absent team members.

  • If the director has said something once, they should not need to repeat it. I can go back through notes and re-iterate what was said as they accomplish other tasks and create more.
